Dear Fellow Colleagues and Value CSEA Unit 9200 Members,
We hope this message finds you well. Below is this week’s update.
In case you missed our General Meeting!
Yesterday’s General Membership Meeting was held at the Grinton I. Will Library, in Yonkers – as we continued our “Round the County” General Membership Meetings. We were joined by our endorsed candidates for County Legislator, Wilson Terrero and Kisha Skipper. The agenda began with approval of the minutes from the July 11, 2026 general membership meeting. Discussion then covered telework, reports and updates from the Negotiation Committee and the Parking Committee, as well as addressed concerns relating to the asbestos remediation at Mount Vernon, deteriorating conditions at our DEF Plants, and the reallocation of various positions at DEF.
The meeting also included planning for the Annual General Meeting (Holiday Meeting), presentation of the financial report and new budget, and an open session for questions and comments. Thank you to all those who joined us, and we hope to see more of you at our next meeting!
Join the CSEA UNIT 9200 PAC Volunteer Team.
Our call for volunteers for the Primary Elections produced a team of 30 members, spearheaded by our PAC Volunteer Coordinator, Frances Septimo! A strong start we can build on. Let’s grow that strength and show that our Unit’s endorsements carry weight. Whether you can make calls, send postcards, or knock on doors, every contribution counts.
When everyone gives a little, we become a force – and election day is only 5 weeks away!
If you are interested in joining and helping us out, simply email Joseph Dalli at JDalli@CSEAUnit9200.org with your name, cell number, and private email address.
Help us Fill Our Journal!
As a reminder, our 2026 Journal Ad Campaign for the Holiday Meeting is still underway. Every ad sold helps offset meeting costs and lowers ticket prices for members. Please take a moment to visit the local businesses you already support—delis, restaurants, auto shops, salons, grocery stores, and other neighborhood spots—and ask them to place an ad in this year’s Holiday Journal.
Ads will appear in the journal and be featured on the Supporters’ Page of the CSEA 9200 website. The 2026 Journal Ad Form is available as an attachment; reach out if you have questions or want help approaching a business.
The sooner ads come in, the better!
CSEA Sponsored Career Development Training – Transitioning from Co-Worker to a Supervisory Role!
CSEA is pleased to offer a virtual presentation to local government and private sector members to learn about Transitioning from Co-Worker to a Supervisory Role.
Many members advance to higher level positions in their careers, and this often changes the scope and level of oversight over other staff in the department. Relationships may change and the dynamic between you and your co-workers change. It can be a difficult transition into a leadership role, but it can also be one that can be handled with respect and professionalism. We would like to give members some tools to handle the transition to this new role.
Register today for this exciting new training!
Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2026
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
