Dear Fellow Colleague and Valued Union Member,
On behalf of our newly re-elected Board, I am honored to address you once again as your Union President. We extend our deepest gratitude for your trust and support. It is a privilege to serve and represent our collective interests as union members.
Though our official term begins today – November 14, upon conclusion of the administratorship, we are already working closely with CSEA staff. We thank them for their support and assistance. Site visits are already underway, and we are actively recruiting Shop Stewards from every department. If you’re interested in joining our team as a Shop Steward, please complete the attached application and forward it back to us. We are addressing department-specific member concerns, including departmental priorities in Environmental Facilities and Probation, as well as county-wide issues such as ADA accommodations (we continue to welcome formal ADA rejection complaints). We have also scheduled our first Labor Management Committee meeting with DSS for later this month! Our first general membership meeting will be held on November 25, at 6pm —details to follow. Going forward, we will host regular in-person meetings, accessible both onsite and remotely, rotating locations across the county to ensure equitable participation.
We believe in balancing advocacy with celebration. We are excited for the return of the CSEA Unit 9200 Christmas Meeting and Dinner on December 12 at the Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle. Secure your tickets now and prepare to connect with colleagues! The ticket application is attached—please reach out with any questions.
In the weeks ahead, your new Board will sharpen priorities, streamline operations, and strengthen organizing efforts. We are committed to revisiting each worksite and invite your active engagement. Your insights, feedback, and concerns are essential as we build a more responsive, united, and dynamic union.
With a commitment to transparency, solidarity, and progress, we will amplify our collective voice, defend your rights with determination, and foster an inclusive environment.
Again, thank you for the honor of serving you. Our office and lines remain fully open, and we look forward to working with you. Whether as Shop Stewards, committee members, or active participants in our initiatives, your involvement is vital. Together, we will build a stronger CSEA Unit 9200.
Sincerely
